Adolescent Disorders
Many adolescents, who are struggling with episodes of conduct and defiance, are often times perceived as “delinquents” and when left untreated, behaviors typically worsen; however, there is hope! When the appropriate treatment is sought out in the early stages, your child can learn to behave in a manner which will beneficial to themselves and others around them. This can positively impact their social relationships, academic performance and overall future success. Conditions associated with these disorders are termed oppositional defiance disorders (ODD) and conduct disorders (CD). Treatment for such disorders may include are medications, in combination, with behavioral therapy.
ADHD
ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. It is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Children with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active. Treatment for such disorders may include medications, in combination, with behavioral therapy.

ANGER MANAGEMENT
Anger can be a normal and healthy emotion. With any emotion, anger conveys a message, telling you when a situation is upsetting, unjust, or threatening; however, if your reaction is to instantly explode, then you message typically doesn’t have the chance to be conveyed and becomes problematic when you express it in a way that harms yourself or others. BIPOLAR DISORDER
There are many misconceptions about bipolar disorders. People with bipolar disorders may have periods of extreme or intense mood swings that can occur at distinct times, called mood episodes, which are categorized as manic, hypomanic and depressive. There are also periods of normal mood as well. Bipolar disorders may be confusing and frightening, but it can be treated, and people with these conditions can lead full and productive lives with the appropriate treatment.
EATING DISORDERS

DEPRESSION

PSYCHOSIS
While everyone’s experience is different, most people say psychosis is frightening and confusing. Psychosis is a break with reality. It is characterized as disruptions to a person’s thoughts and feelings that make it difficult for them to understand what is real and what isn’t. These disruptions are often experienced as seeing and/or hearing things and believing things that aren’t real or having strange, persistent thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Related diagnosis are schizophrenia, schizoaffective and delusional disorders.
INSOMNIA
Insomnia occurs when an individual has trouble falling and/or staying asleep. It can be short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic) when it occurs at least 3 nights a week for more than three months. In this event, professional treatment is strongly recommended.
OCD
It is common for many to have routines or rituals throughout the day or just before bed to maintain structure. Nevertheless, if you begin experiencing fear, unwanted thoughts and urges to do certain actions, which is described as obsession and compulsion, then you may be one of the millions of Americans living with OCD.
PTSD
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disorder that may occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a serious accident, a terrorist act, war/combat, rape or who have been threatened with death or serious acts of violence. These symptoms are unrelenting over time, which can interfere with your life, even months or years after the event.
